Our Story
TUFC Furniture & Home is a family-run furniture business based in Pontypool, South Wales, built on a simple belief: quality furniture shouldn't cost a fortune.
For years, we noticed just how expensive quality furniture had become. It wasn't unusual to see sofas costing £3,000 or more on the high street, leaving many families feeling like they had to choose between quality and affordability.
We believed there had to be a better way. Our goal was simple: offer quality furniture at honest prices, backed by friendly customer service and advice that people could genuinely trust.
Originally, TUFC stood for The Used Furniture Company. We started by sourcing, restoring and refurbishing used furniture, giving quality pieces a second life while helping customers furnish their homes for a fraction of the cost of buying new. The name stuck, and although many people think TUFC sounds like a football club, we decided to keep it because it had become part of our story and our identity.
In the early days, TUFC was something we built alongside our part-time jobs. Evenings and weekends were spent searching for stock, collecting furniture, meeting customers and slowly growing the business one piece at a time. As our reputation grew, so did our passion for providing great value and excellent customer service. In January 2025, we made the decision to leave our part-time jobs behind and focus on TUFC full-time.
As the business continued to grow, so did our product range. We expanded into brand-new sofas, made-to-order furniture and big-brand sofas, while still offering the occasional refurbished piece. By working closely with carefully selected suppliers who share our commitment to quality, value and customer satisfaction, we're able to offer beautiful furniture at prices that are often hundreds — and sometimes thousands — of pounds less than traditional high street retailers, without compromising on quality or service.
Fast forward to today and we're proud to have helped well over 100 customers across the UK find the perfect sofa for their home. We've also built a fantastic community, with more than 6,500 followers across our social media platforms, a 98% customer recommendation rate on Facebook and a 100% recommendation rate on Google.
In June 2026, we reached another exciting milestone by opening our very first showroom in Pontypool. While it's still a small showroom, it gives customers the opportunity to see selected models in person, compare fabrics and colours, ask questions and receive friendly, no-pressure advice. We're incredibly proud of how far we've come and, although we have ambitions to expand into larger premises in the future, we believe in growing the right way—one step at a time.
